Amala Foods Inc is a food technology company established to produce and distribute
100% natural, minimally processed plant-based food products.

Conceptualized in 2018, Amala (“pure” in Sanskrit) was created in response
to a growing global demand for meat alternatives, for health as well as environmental
concerns. With the future of the planet dependent on a dramatic reduction in meat
and dairy consumption, there is a serious need for sustainable alternative meat
solutions, and a burgeoning market of concerned, predominantly
young consumers looking for options.

A report from Abillionveg, a review platform for the global sustainability movement, showed that
demand for plant-based meat surged by 12 times in the third quarter of 2020 compared to the
previous year, with growth driven not by vegans and vegetarians, but mostly omnivores and flexitarians.
It predicted that the market will be worth $61bn USD by 2030. (Source)

Credit Suisse estimates that with a shift toward a more plant-based diet
being inevitable given the environmental damage caused by animal farming,
the market for alternative meat and dairy could grow from
USD 14 Billion currently to USD 1.4 Trillion by 2050. (Source)

In the Asia Pacific (APAC), the market is expected to be around USD 30B by 2027, at a compound
annual growth rate (CAGR) of 18.9%. According to market research firm Mintel, APAC market growth
is due to increasing disposable income, technological innovation in food and beverages, and supportive
government policies especially in India, Japan, and China. (Source)
